(Under these and similar names form a whole treatment gaining importance in medicine and wellness, which makes use of the interaction between mechanical vibrations within the biological circulation especially in the extra-cellular areas. We have decided, for the time being, to use the phrasing "biomechanical stimulation" after the main developer, Prof. Dr. Nazarov.) Later we will seek a new definition to avoid confusion and to be able clearly classify the treatment meant by us.
The effect of biomechanical stimulation is based on stimulating the body's own rhythms and regenerating the functionality of connective tissue. It concentrates on the time structure of the organism, which has been mostly neglected up to now.
On all of its levels - from the level of chemical processes and parts of cells over cells, tissues and organs to the systems surrounding the whole organism - the organism comprises vibrating fields, vibrating material structures and rhythmic processes. These time processes play, as regulatory factors, a central role in the organism. The loss of rhythmic regulation is always to be seen as a first, early sign - and a contributory cause - of an illness, long before it comes to determinable, material changes, which were seen by medicine up to now as signs of an illness.
Video-microscopic examinations at the University of Erlangen and further research establishments brought an enlightening insight into the dynamics and interaction of cells and the tissue surrounding them, the extra-cellular matrix, in which the cell swims and from which it nourishes itself. Parts of cells or even whole cells oscillate in the fluid at a high frequency. As soon several get into contact with each other, they start to limit the independent mobility they had had up to then and develop mutual, slower, regulated rhythms. The same thing happens on a larger scale, if, for example, heart muscle cells are brought together. The experiments in Erlangen also show, that living systems are influenced by exterior impulses, like, for example, electro-magnetic fields. In this way, the rhythm and agility of cells and extra-cellular matrix (outlying the cells) can be regenerated as well as, in individual cases, the involution of tumors Can be achieved. The influence on a regeneration of the body's own rhythms appeared to be a promising method, so that BMS could be developed on this basis.
Basics of the therapy
The skeletal muscle with 40 percent share of the whole body mass builds the largest rhythmic vibrating body organ. Due to this, we can conclude that it acts as the regulator for the resonance framework of all other body systems A normal healthy muscle shows, even when relaxed, a so-called micro-vibration, a subtle shaking in certain frequency areas, that even lasts on a while after death. It provides the muscle with "standby tension", which allows for a fast contraction, but also for a maintaining of the body temperature as well as being responsible for the correct consistency of blood and tissue. One of the most important functions of this muscular micro-vibration is, however, the effect on circulation, which is by no means only run by the heart as motor. Anyway, the circulation of blood should not be regarded in isolation. It is only a part of the total body fluid, by which the extra-cellular fluid not flowing into the vessels plays a large role next to the vein and lymphatic systems. The muscles play the main part in stimulating and maintaining the total circulation. The vibrating of the muscle fibers produces an active suction together with the vein and lymphatic vessels, which provides for a stream of fluid towards the heart. Through this, the cells are supplied in a rhythmic way and metabolic end products are disposed of in time.
BMS with an electrically operated vibration producer (Resonator). The types by the current known suppliers vary a lot - from a hand applicator with a vibrating head-vibrathode over large-surfaced vibration to appliances of whole body vibrations with their vibration platforms.
Whilst the small-surfaced vibration vibrathodes achieve an exact vibration in the direction of muscle fibers and can thus develop the highest stimulating, the large-surfaced applicators are vibration bundles containing a large amount of different directions of vibrating.
Only the share of coherent vibrations stimulates the muscles, like they would only be reached under the highest exertion (maximal strength. As a rule, frequency and intensity of the vibrations can be altered. They are adjusted to the body's vibrating behavior of the muscle and continuously re-adjusted during the action. Thanks to the "resonance tuning", it is possible to change the muscle vibrations to normal, healthy natural frequency. As these, however, exercise a regulating influence on the rhythmic processes in the circulation and other body systems; a general improvement of the function of cells and matrix can be indirectly reached through influencing their rhythm. Derailed processes are normalized and natural healing processes initialized and promoted.
Together with the end fibers of the vegetative nervous system, the end capillaries of the blood circulatory system and the lymphatic vessels, the tissue forms a functional unit. Today it must be seen as an active, independent unit. As it goes through the whole body and is the only connection between organic cells and the blood circulatory system, represents nerve and lymphatic system, a central role in the organism is given to it. A neglected matrix system is present with chronic and degenerative illnesses and conditions of pain, even with unspecific performance-reducing disturbances of the senses, having great importance.
ClottingThe condition of the matrix plays a central role in all recovery, healing and transmutation processes. Lacking penetrability - in over-soured surroundings, the metabolic fluid becomes gelid - leading to clotting in the provision and disposing routes. The consequence is insufficient circulation and provision of oxygen and an increasing degree of acid in the tissue. By continuation of this condition structural changes develop i all of the tissue: Muscle, vessel and nervous systems, bones, capillaries etc. By stimulating the muscle's natural vibrations, BMS restores the tissue system to its optimal function, cause its liquidification and deacidification and normalizing of circulation and metabolism. An optimal healing environment and resistance processes are combined with this. The degeneration of local muscle cramps, a general relaxation soothing of pain and revival are further effects of the therapy. Its application is most sensible for prevention as well as for rehabilitation after overstraining, accidents and operations as well as in pain therapies.
Nasarov-Approach
According to extensive physiological examinations by the scientis of sport and biomechanics scientist Prof. Dr. Nazarov (1978), the muscle fibers vibrate constantly with different frequencies (muscle tone). These micro vibrations were first proven in 1943 by the Austrian neuropathic ROHRACHER. These movements produce a vibration process on the tendons with a wide area of frequency. Which can also be measurable when fully relaxed. An example of this: The finger tips shake lightly when stretching out the arm. On recording this shaking movement, an irregular vibration process is shown. On increasing tension up to maximal muscle contraction, the fluctuations become more regular and reach a sinus form in the end. This process can be made vivid by tensing up the bent arm and and cleching one's fist. A synchronization of the vibrations of the single muscle fibres comes about - activity tremor. These vibrations are always present in man for a life-long. They are lower in women as men. They are decreased by about a third when asleep, in a condition of stimulation increase by up to ten-fold (1 - 5 mm). The central frequency of relaxed muscles comes to between 7 and 13 Hz. The maximum value of tensed muscles is up to 30 Hz. These processes of vibration can be seen as essential for the muscle action. Nazarov's idea results from biomechanical stimulation. An increasing, sinus-formed alien stimulation of the tensed muscle that leads to a lengthwise vibration of the muscle fibers, like maximal strain. One can only define that the body muscles are primarily developed in this context (hypertrophy), if they vibrate the most during the activity. This important knowledge finds application with such muscles, which cannot be moved by the person involved e.g. due to lamed muscles or spastic paresis.
Specific effects of vibration on the body
Effect on the nervous system
On stimulating the receptors in the neuro-muscular system, information reaches the central nervous system from the periphery over the sensory routes. The stimulation of the nerves follows at the ends, the mechano-receptors. These are fine ends of nerves without covers, which twist around one or more muscle fibers like a spiral. Mechano-receptors (also called proprio-receptors supply kinesthetic information (feeling for position, movement and strain). They can be found in muscles, fascia, tendons and tissue, they are more or less present in all organs.
With healthy musclesinnervation (tensing up) follows consciously from the brain. Deliberate tensing up or stretching of muscles cause stimulation of the receptors, which pass this on to the central nervous system via the nerves.
With pathologically altered muscles,
of lame or spastic, this process is damaged. The stimulation (order) coming from the brain cannot or can only be carried out in part due to the disturbance.
o Muscle activity is affected by the vibrathode during BMS, in this way a "normal movement pattern" is signalized to the brain. A reprogramming of the motor zones takes place With disturbances in the sensitive area, a more or les normalization is achieved, e.g. hyperalgesia (reduced feeling in sensory input) or hypersensitivity after nerve lesions. The effect of stimulation on the receptors does not depend so much on the level, but on the speed of vibration. Thus, the frequencies optimal for warming-up or pumping of blood differ from those favorable for stimulating receptors. On changing the parameters, the one or the other function of the organism is influenced with priority.
Effect on circulation and lymphatic system
o The vessel system disposes of its own muscular system, but is not able to supply the body in a circulation stabilizing way. To safeguard this, muscle activity is necessary (muscle pump). On straining (lengthwise vibration of the muscle fibers), blood is pressed out of the vessels. In the relaxing phase, the vessels take on their normal form again, so that arterial blood can flow back.
o BMS causes an improvement in the circulation of the stimulated tissue. Studies have shown that on application, for example, in the lower arm-hand area, the function of blood pumping is increased by 10% and on additional dynamic activity by 30%.
o Used with the corresponding frequency, BMS supports the lymphatic system.
Effect on mobilityStudies by the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt/Main showed that on application of 3x2 minutes with 2 minutes' break between the series, a spontaneous increase in mobility to a considerable extent of 10-15% of the length of the muscle. This lengthening of the segment is reversible after one application and lasts approx. 30 minutes.
o On application over a long period, BMS is suitable in an excellent way for mobility training.
o Over a period of six to eight weeks, two training units a week, growth rates of 20 to 30% can be achieved. In this way, BMS should be preferred to other stretching methods.
The increase in flexibility can be explained neuro-physiologically, as a stimulation of the Golgi tendon happens. The activation of the Golgi tendon causes reflective restraint of muscle contractions.
With BMS Golgi-tendon is stimulated with a certain frequency and at the same time the muscle is stretched against this restraint and relaxed again. Apart from in the fields of medicine and sports, BMS also leads to success in the field of cosmetics. In all areas, an immediate, strong revitalization of the whole body is caused
After evaluation of the BMS therapies carried out, the success exceeded the expectations by far. In this way, the publications (e.g. by the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt/Main, Institute for sport sciences) were more than confirmed.

Side effectsThe vibration leads in many cases to clear itching on the trained body parts. This is a sign of the strong vegetative effect and effect on vessels. Some patients react by a too large amplitude or too fast increases in intensity of training with circulation problems in the form of a fall in blood pressure. This is not to be seen as a sign of incompatibility, but as a symptom of vessel regualtion weakness, which can be improved by BMS training. Diabetics should monitor their values regularly during the training phase, because BMS causes a fast improvement blood glucose and apart from that, there is the danger of an overdose of medicine (insulin).
